Support Services Technician

The Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Support Services Technician to join our team dedicated Support Services team at our Cambridge City, IN site.
The Pay Range: $20 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions and could exceed the advertised salary range, however, please note that the upper end of the range is not guaranteed to be offered.
The Schedule: Monday – Thursday 6:00am – 3:330pm, Friday 7:00am - 11:00am.

The Role:
The Support Services Technician will be based in our Support Services areas which includes Wash Services, Facilities & Supply, SAS and Central Processing. Each technician has a specific area they are based in and over time will be cross trained in all areas so that they will have the ability to support the entire team as needed. Each department works to support animal production needs using various methods of cleaning, sterilizing, and processing procedures.
Core Responsibilities:
- Operating autoclaves and cage washers to clean and sterilize feed and assorted barrier supplies.
- Operating forklift to move products and equipment to and from various locations.
- Operating equipment, handling supplies and animals to perform Euthanasia practices.
- High school diploma or general education (GED)
- Minimum 6 months working experience or related training
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Basic computer skills needed to document routing information – we will train!
- Problem solving
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
This role requires considerable physical exertion, including frequent climbing, crouching, crawling, and lifting items up to 75 pounds. Employees will regularly work with chemicals and protective measures while handling occupational hazards that require special precautions. The work environment may involve occasional exposure to situations with the potential for serious injury, as well as extremes in temperature, outdoor weather conditions, strong odors, and high noise levels. In some cases, access to certain work areas may be restricted. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
