Production Manager
Lead People. Build Capability. Make a Difference.
At Taconic Biosciences Denmark, we believe exceptional production results are created by exceptional people.
We are looking for a Production Manager who is passionate about developing leaders, building strong teams, and creating an environment where people take ownership, continuously improve, and succeed together.
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage from behind a desk.
It is a role for a visible leader who enjoys spending time on the production floor, coaching Team Leaders, solving problems together with employees, and creating the conditions for others to perform at their very best.
If your greatest satisfaction comes from seeing people grow, teams become stronger, and performance improve because of the culture you have created, then this may be the opportunity for you.
Why this role?
Taconic is evolving.
We are building a culture where leadership is measured not by having all the answers, but by developing people who can solve problems, make decisions, and continuously improve the way we work.
As Production Manager, you will play a key role in that journey.
You will help shape the future of our production organization while working in an international company whose work contributes directly to pharmaceutical research and the development of tomorrow's medicines.
Your responsibilities
You will lead our Animal Production organization in Denmark and be responsible for delivering results across people, production, quality, safety, service, and animal welfare.
Your success will not only be measured by operational performance, but by your ability to develop leaders, build capability, and create a culture where accountability and collaboration go hand in hand.
You will:
Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders and production employees
Build a culture of trust, ownership, continuous learning, and accountability
Create clarity through clear expectations, regular feedback, and visible leadership
Ensure production targets and customer commitments are consistently achieved
Translate operational data and KPIs into practical improvements
Drive Lean and continuous improvement together with the people doing the work
Support production planning, workforce planning, and resource allocation
Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, SOPs, and animal welfare regulations
Collaborate across functions to achieve shared business goals
Your key stakeholders
You will work closely with Team Leaders, Quality Assurance, Animal Welfare & Integrity, Facilities, Supply Services, Product Management, Production Planning, Finance, HR, and colleagues across Europe and the United States.
You will report directly to the Danish Site Director and become an important member of the Danish Leadership Team.
Who are you?
You genuinely enjoy leading people.
You understand that sustainable results come from developing others rather than solving every problem yourself.
You create trust by being present, approachable, consistent, and fair.
You are comfortable making decisions, setting clear expectations, and holding yourself and others accountable while creating an environment where people feel respected, supported, and motivated to contribute.
You are naturally curious, data-informed, and always looking for better ways of working.
Ideally, you bring:
Leadership experience from production, manufacturing, operations, life sciences, pharmaceutical, food production, or another regulated environment
Experience leading supervisors or Team Leaders
A coaching and empowering leadership style
Experience driving operational performance through KPIs and structured follow-up
Experience with Lean, Operational Excellence, or continuous improvement methodologies
Strong analytical skills and confidence using operational data to support decisions
Experience with production planning, capacity management, and resource allocation
Strong Excel skills
Fluency in Danish and English
A relevant degree is an advantage, but we value leadership capability, operational understanding, and the ability to develop people just as highly as formal education.
