Taconic Biosciences is seeking a full-time Technician Facilities Support to join our dedicated Warehouse team at our Seattle, WA site.

The Pay Range: $21.50 - $26.00. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions and could exceed the advertised salary range, however, please note that the upper end of the range is not guaranteed to be offered.

The Schedule: The Standard schedule will be Monday – Friday either 7AM-3PM or 11AM to 7PM. Some flexibility will be needed during times where additional coverage is needed.

Number of Positions Open: Hiring 2 positions with start dates beginning in December, with more roles to come in 2025. If you cannot begin immediately but are interested in a future hire date, let us know!

The Role:
As a Technician, Facilities Supply you will play a crucial role in processing orders, conducting inventory maintenance, shipping and receiving, sterilize supplies, perform basic facilities maintenance and waste disposal functions.    

Core Responsibilities:
  • Receiving used supplies from production areas
  • Preparing clean supplies for distribution
  • Loading, unloading, and running multiple duties at the same time
  • Receiving, categorizing, inventorying, and distributing supplies
  • Interacting with and receiving services and goods from suppliers
  • Processing, documenting, and packing surplus animals
  • Performing basic maintenance and janitorial duties
  • Preparation of packages and supplies to be autoclaved
  • Operating autoclaves for animal room supplies
  • Using carts and electric pallet jacks to transport supplies
  • Maintaining logbooks and documentation accuracy
  • Processing animal barrier orders with critical supply delivery timelines
  • Preparing orders for UPS, FedEx, or truck deliveries
  • Prepares documents for purchasing and requisitions of new or additional stock items
  • Delivers requisitioned items to areas, using aseptic procedures if required
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to instructions
  • Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerators and/or freezers
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education (GED).
  • Minimum 6 months of related work experience or related training required.
  • Preferred experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong writing or verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently for extended periods of time.
  • Comfortable with computer data entry and retrieval.
  • Mechanical aptitude is helpful.
  • Familiarity with LEAN principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is beneficial.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Significant physical exertion required, including climbing, crouching, crawling, and lifting items up to 75 pounds.
  • Regular use of chemicals and protective measures.
  • Exposure to heavy machinery and occupational hazards.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, strong odors, and noise levels.
