Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Senior Manager Health Diagnostics to join our dedicated lab team at our Rensselaer, NY site. This role will work primarily onsite but does have some flexibility to be remote.
The Pay Range: $100,000 - $110,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions, with this the upper end of the range is not always likely to be offered.

As the Senior Manager of Health Diagnostics, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our laboratory operations. You will lead a dynamic team and drive efficiency through the health testing value stream. Your responsibilities will include interpreting and approving results for both internal and external stakeholders, mentorship to team members, and spearheading process improvements. This position offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in microbiology and leadership skills to drive innovation and excellence in health diagnostics.
Core Responsibilities:
Occasional travel is required, generally 2 to 5 trips per year.

The Role:

This position offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in microbiology and leadership skills to drive innovation and excellence in health diagnostics.
Core Responsibilities:
- Leads daily Health Diagnostic laboratory operations, including the necropsy and microbiology, and Quality Control laboratories.
- Oversees the application and development of microbiological methods for routine testing in a high throughput environment.
- Reviews, interprets, and approves results for internal and external customers.
- Provides training and mentorship for health diagnostic team.
- Applies microbiology knowledge to development of process improvements.
- Ensures that all essential laboratory equipment is maintained according to established schedules.
- Writes and maintains employee training records and SOPs.
- Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field preferred, or technical/managerial experience at an equivalent level.
- 4+ years of relevant experience and/or training in health diagnostics.
- 1+ year previous supervisory experience required.
- Experience in developing and leading projects.
- Knowledge of environmental monitoring, sterility testing, and anaerobic culture is a plus.
- Familiarity with working in a regulated environment is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to listen empathetically and understand information presented by people with different communication styles and viewpoints.
- Proficiency in a wide range of principles and methodologies within the specialized field of health diagnostics.
