Are you a passionate people leader? We are looking for a Sr Manager to support genotyping laboratory. This position is responsible for supervising more than 10 persons up to and including 20 persons. 

The Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Sr Manager Molecular Analysis candidate for our Rensselaer, NY location. 

The Pay Range: $110,000 - $120,000 annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.

The Schedule: Monday - Friday, core business hours.

The Role:
The work involves isolating and defining conditions, resolving critical problems, or developing new theories.  The work product or service affects the work of other experts, the development of major aspects of administrative or scientific programs or missions, or the well being of substantial numbers of people.  

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensures team has staff and resources to perform work.
  • Assesses and ensures delivery of accurate results
  • Manages laboratory capacity, throughput, and turnaround time to meet business needs
  • Analyzes high throughput genomic datasets
  • Oversees validation, verification, and monitor performance of assays
  • Investigates ambiguous results and provides guidance to resolve genetic issues
  • Drives continuous improvement efforts to improve lab operation
  • Coordinates custom testing projects and prepares associated reports
  • Works across departments to ensure the delivery of timely and accurate genotyping results
  • Develops new talent

Education and Experience:
  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Genetics or Molecular Biology.
  • Experience in a technical or specialized field requiring extended training.
  • Able to perform a range of assignments and resolve moderately complex or non-standard problems independently.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience and/or training. 
  • Experience in High throughput data analysis, genome editing, next generation sequencing analysis.
