Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Team Coordinator Animal Production to join the dedicated operations team at the Germantown, NY site. This position will be based within an isolated barrier unit and is open to current employees on the animal production team.

The Pay: $24 - $33 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions, with this the upper end of this range is not always likely to be offered.

The Schedule: Monday – Friday, with a rotating weekend shift.

The Role:
The Team Coordinator Animal Production is responsible for coordinating the work of Animal Care Technicians while also training and motivating staff. These individuals ensure that high standards of animal welfare are met, and that all animals receive husbandry consistent with SOPs.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Assist supervisory staff in training new employees. 
  • Back up animal care technicians as required. 
  • Coordinate and order supplies. 
  • Enter information into databases. 
  • Inform Supervisor or Manager of problems. 
  • Audit work of Animal Care Technicians, including line audits, SOP compliance, and recordkeeping and packing accuracy. 
  • Ensure that production goals are met, initiate changes if necessary. 
  • Provide input to supervisor on performance of Animal Care Technicians. 
  • Create documents, including COPC and E-Pack. 
  • Hold daily huddles with Barrier Leaders. 
  • Promote a positive work environment. 
Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree from two-year college or technical school, or technical /managerial experience at an equivalent level.
  • AALAS certifications, LVT/CVT preferred.
  • 2+ years relevant experience and/or training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to listen attentively and understand other people’s points of view.
