The Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Generalist Compensation & Benefits to join our dedicated HR team. This position works primarily remote (90%) with ad hoc needs to visit our Germantown, NY site. Qualified candidates will reside within 2 hour driving proximity to our Germantown, NY site for payroll backup needs.
The Pay Range: $26 - $30 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions and could exceed the advertised salary range, however, please note that the upper end of the range is not guaranteed to be offered.

As a Generalist Compensation & Benefits you will support the administration of employee compensation, benefits, and leave of absence processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless employee experience. A key focus will be managing leave requests, including FMLA compliance, assisting with payroll and benefits administration, and maintaining accurate employee records. This position requires a strong understanding of relevant policies, federal and state regulations, and the ability to provide employees with clear guidance on compensation and benefits matters. The Role:

Core Responsibilities:
- Leave of Absence Management: Administer employee leaves of absence, including communicating with employees and managers processing applicable paperwork, monitoring leave status and return to work dates.
- Benefits Assistance: Support the benefits administration process.
- Compensation Support: Assist with payroll processing including leave deductions and benefit calculations. Become the back-up for payroll processing.
- HR Data Integrity: Ensure completeness and accuracy of global employee data, including maintaining and updating HR and personnel records. Perform data audits on a regular basis.
- Employee Support: Be an accessible resource to employees with compensation and benefit related questions, escalating issues as necessary.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with regulations at the federal, state and local levels and prepare reports as requested.
- Associate's degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school, or technical/managerial experience at an equivalent level.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in HR, benefits administration, payroll, or leave management.
- Strong understanding of multi state FMLA and other leave-related compliance requirements. Taconic’s main locations in the US are in NY, IN and WA state.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and data management skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a customer-service mindset.
