Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking an Associate Director Business Development to join our dedicated sales team in this remote position. This position will require frequent travel. Qualified candidates will be based in the continental US. Sponsorship for US citizenship is not available for this role.

The Pay Range: $140,000 - $160,000, plus commission of $70,000 at plan. Exact annual base salary may vary based on several factors. These factors include geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions and could exceed the advertised salary range, however, please note that the upper end of the range is not guaranteed to be offered.

The Role:
Join Taconic as an Associate Director of Business Development, where you'll take the reins in managing intricate CRO and Pharma accounts, driving revenue both in the present and for the future. In this dynamic role, you'll be tasked with cultivating robust relationships across diverse buying personas to not only safeguard existing business but also unearth new opportunities within our client base. Success in this position hinges on your proven ability to craft and execute comprehensive account strategies. A deep-seated understanding of business strategy is a must, as you'll be leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at the director and C-suite levels, both internally and externally. Your keen focus on customer needs will be pivotal as you tailor solutions to address their unique challenges. You'll also be responsible for managing sales funnels with precision and accuracy, ensuring forecasts are reliable and actionable.

Experience in navigating contract requirements with finesse is essential, as is a track record of success in objection handling, negotiation, and deal closure. If you're ready to make an impact in a fast-paced environment and drive tangible results, we want to hear from you.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders at all levels, including director and C-suite executives, both internally and externally, to influence decision-making and drive partnership opportunities.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and growth opportunities, informing strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Develop and articulate compelling value propositions and tailored solutions that address the unique needs and challenges of clients, effectively positioning Taconic as a trusted partner in the industry.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the business development team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation to drive individual and collective success.
  • Represent Taconic at industry events, conferences, and networking forums, serving as a brand ambassador, and actively seeking opportunities to enhance the company's visibility and reputation within the marketplace.
Education and Experience:
  • Master’s degree or equivalent technical/managerial experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and/or training within Business Development/CROs, demonstrating:
    • Significant knowledge and understanding of business strategy and goal setting.
    • Proficiency in researching and analyzing market dynamics.
    • Ability to interpret results, determine likely outcomes, and take associated actions.
    • Experience in creating compelling business and financial value propositions.
    • Demonstrated high-level cross-company and partner engagement skills.
  • Previous management experience is required.
  • Strong sense of purpose, direction, and leadership.
  • Ability to effectively utilize a complex mix of sales and business skills while comfortably operating at the Director and C-suite level.
  • Proficiency in conducting detailed research and analysis of the dynamics within the Contract Research Organizations and Pharma/Biotech markets, coupled with the ability to demonstrate how relationships will mutually enhance both businesses over time.
Travel: Frequent travel is required, generally multiple trips each month.
